What is it
used for?
Mirror Hangers
are used to affix wire to the back of your frame.
How do I
use the mirror hangers?
Place your
frame face down on your workstation. The backing paper should be in
place on your frame unless you are hanging a stretcher bar canvas.
Measure the
length of your frame. Make a mark 1/3 the way down from the top of the
frame. Screw the mirror hanger in at this mark. If you are using the
2-hole mirror hanger, this mark is for the top hole.
Some people
tilt the mirror hangers at a 60°angle. Some people place the mirror
hangers at a 90°angle. Either is allowed. Be sure that if you are
tilting your mirror hanger, you have both sides at the same angle.
Note:
Check your frame before affixing the mirror hangers. Locate the center
of the leg. Be sure the center of the leg is in the thickest part of
the frame. Make adjustments to the left or right as needed so that the
mirror hanger is attached in the thickest part of the frame leg.
When should
I use the 1-hole versus the 2-hole mirror hanger?
Use the 1-hole
mirror hanger on frame sizes 16x20 and smaller. Use the 2-hole mirror
hanger on frames larger than a 16x20.
Note:
If you are hanging a frame 4” wide or wider, regardless of image size
use the 2-hole mirror hanger.
