What is it
used for?
Framers’ Tape
is used to attach your images to mat board. Be sure you use acid-free
framers’ tape –and not masking tape—to attach your images to mat board
as acid-free framers’ tape protects your images.
How do I
use framers’ tape?
Tear a small
piece of tape (two inches) on the back of your image –at top center –
with half the tape above the image. Place your image face up on your
work space. Hold your mat over your image until you “frame” the image
perfectly within the image cut out. Place the mat on your image once
this is done. Press the top of your mat against the area where your
tape is to force the adhere. Gently lift the image and the mat off
your work space and flip over.
If your images
ARE NOT mounted, place tape only along top
corner edges. Allow the image to drop. This keeps you from having
waves or bubbles or ripples in your images.
If your images
ARE mounted, place tape on all four
corners. Be sure to tape the corner itself. Use enough tape so that
the image is firmly in place and there is no chance of slipping.
When is it
used?
The framers’
tape is used any time you are placing your images under mat board.
